There are plenty of myths circulating about chiropractors and what they can offer patients. Today we’re taking a closer look at three of those myths.

Myth #1. Once you start seeing a chiropractor, you have to for the rest of your life.

This is False. Just as you would like to maintain your vehicle’s engine or go to the dentist for preventative medicine, Chiropractors offer you an opportunity to maintain a proper musculoskeletal system as long as you continue to see a certified Chiropractor. They enable your body to be flexible and healthy regardless of your secular job position or lifestyle. However, it is a choice and no chiropractor will force you to come back should you not want to.

Myth #2. Chiropractors are not as well educated as Doctors are regarding the body.

All chiropractors are granted what is called a D.C. or Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree. They are licensed professionals and must meet rigorous standards before earning their placement as Chiropractors. They take extensive classes and train for hundreds of hours prior to earning their certifications. In addition, Chiropractors must complete a residency within real clinics with real patients before taken up their own practice. After graduation, they must pass four sets of national board exams in states where they plan to practice. It is not as easy as one two three, and you can be confident they have the skills necessary to administer powerful care.

Myth #3. Chiropractic care is too expensive for the benefits.

This is also false. If you have health insurance, your chiropractic care is likely covered. Most health insurances cover this form of care because of its preventative nature. Whatever your typical co-pay is at the doctor’s office is likely to be the same at your chiropractor’s office.
