In other words, don’t be preoccupied with fashion during your pregnancy. Flat, comfortable and low profile shoes are your best bet for avoiding unnecessary back pain. Keep a sensible dress code during your pregnancy and never force yourself into uncomfortable clothing for fashion sake.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising during pregnancy, as at any other time of life, helps the body ward off tight muscles and misalignment of the spine. Walking, cycling, and swimming are excellent ways for pregnant women to exercise while carrying a child. Gently stretching before and after is essential to prevent additional muscle strain.

Proper Nutrition & Ergonomics

Eating a well-balanced diet during pregnancy prevents excess weight gain and can therefore prevent back pain. Additionally, proper ergonomics in bed and while working at a desk will also prevent and ease muscle pain. A pillow between the knees helps take pressure off of the lower back while sleeping and an ergonomically correct workstation can also help prevent back pain.
